Thank You, Mama!

“Close your legs when you sit
Cover your body – neck to feet
Never you heed to their deceit
When they say your dress don’t fit”

I’m now a lady not a girl
When would they stop spoon-feeding me?
I am a woman not a toy
Emotions run all through my veins.

Mama never said he’d come
She never said this day would come:
When his thoughts won’t let me sleep
When his love would eat real deep.

Was Mama scared to let me know:
She never spoke of guys and love
She never said this stage is tough
She never told it may be rough.

The more i close my sexy legs
I look like honey to the bees;
The more i run from their deceit
The closer i get to their truth.

Why didn’t Mama say it all –
The truth and lies; and let me choose?
All her theories lack practice
All her answers lack options.

Mama’s teachings brought me here
They kept me going until he came –
Open the heart that Mama sealed
Thank you Mama – I go from here!
